L.O.V.E.

This weekend we celebrated

Each other

Those are just some of the things I think of when I think of Carleton's and my relationship and the love we share. Ok enough with the mushy stuff... other things we enjoyed this weekend were good friends and food!

Thanks to Chantel for teaching me how to make these cookies! She shared her icing tips, bottles, sugar cookie recipe, everything to help this cookie making attempt run as smoothly as possible! I'm sure she would do a much better job, but this was my first time making the icing, and baking the cookies (with a lot of help from Allison and Kristin!) all from scratch! I wanted something special for the kids I teach in primary and decided on these! Friday night we met at Allison's around 9:30, we finished baking and went home just after 1am. The next day we started to decorate! Here is the piping:
Then we flooded and decorated them!

Inside this box are some of the most amazing truffles I've ever had...they're currently in my desk at work and I CANNOT stop eating them...I opened them last night, 36 truffles...pretty sure there's like half that left, oops :/
My daddy sent me flowers at work on Friday. He's a great dad:)

I hope everyone had a great valentines day/weekend/week and spent it with someone they love: a spouse, friend, significant other, dog, whoever!

Lovely weather for a sleigh ride together

with Carleton:)

As much as he DID NOT want to take these pictures, he was a good sport and let me have my fun for a couple minutes while we froze in the snow. I was using my broken tripod to take these so we were on our knees in the snow in the close ups, COLD! This wasn't quite what I was going for, but you do what you can with a broken tripod, a timer, and two freezing people outside of our apartment looking silly!

MONSTER JAM

Every year my dad takes my sister and I on a daddy/daughter date to the "Monster Jam" Monster Truck Rally. There were a few of the same trucks there as last year but at least 5 new ones, including Sampson:

Grave Digger was a seasoned pro, well he was there at least last year, I can't remember if he was the year before.

This video doesn't do the motor bikes, 4-wheelers, etc. justice, but they were awesome they did flips, they let go of their bikes 30 feet above the 30 foot hill of dirt. It was AWESOME. Of course we sat on the very front row, nothing but the best for my dad's girls:) Love him. We always have a great time together, even if the smell of the diesel was REALLY overpowering this time.

There was even a really really hoochy looking girl giving out the trophies and dancing (new this year) to make sure all the people who weren't there with their kids and spouses had a good time too...maybe next year they'll trade her back for the guy who was on fire and fell from the ceiling last year, he was A LOT cooler.

Thanks dad and Jes for another fun year at Monster Jam!

PS- the following week my mom, sister, and I all went to see Mama Mia for a mother/daughter date and it was a lot of fun too! The three of us went to see the movie when it came out in theaters, so when I found out it was part of our season ticket package at the DPAC (and that Carleton would NOT go) I tried really hard to get a third ticket next to our season tickets, and I did!

Bahamas video

I'm such a dork! I just realized only half the video plays on here, oops! I guess it's too long for flickr? I just reloaded it a different way, sorry! All of this was taken with my camera (not camcorder) trying to dodge the splashing dolphins and such, sorry for the shaky footage!
